About Me

Susan CookI am an Associate Professor of English at Southern New Hampshire University, where I teach composition and eighteenth-, nineteenth-, and twentieth-century British literature and gender studies.  I’m currently the Director of General Education on campus. I hold a Ph.D. in English and Doctoral Emphasis in Feminist Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and an M.A. and B.A. in English from Boston College. Before moving to Manchester in 2011, I taught at Bemidji State University and the University of South Florida.

I am also the President of the Nineteenth Century Studies Association and the Treasurer of the Dickens Society.  I am a past Delegate Assembly Member of the Modern Language Association.

I play roller derby for Boston Roller Derby, a non-profit member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association.  I like photography, hiking, and running.
